Master the art of live event production planning and execution at the Skirball Cultural Center through a role as Public Programs intern . The institution’s Public Programs department seeks an apprentice with a love of performing arts to participate in programmatic development and execution of music, literary arts, theater, dance, film and other live, public-facing events. This internship provides hands-on experience in live arts programming via the Skirball’s annual outdoor Sunset Concerts series and other public events. It will require the intern to become familiar with this music series, now in its 29th season, as well as the greater mission of the Skirball. This position requires regular collaboration with various departments at the Skirball, strong interpersonal skills, a keen ability to listen and respect for limited hierarchy created especially to maintain a fast-moving production schedule. Dates/Hours: The full-time summer internship is a hybrid position, with onsite and remote work days. 40 hours/week with a rate of $18.50/hr, for a consecutive ten-week work period starting June 15 and ending August 21. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with event support for a range of daytime, evening and weekend programs throughout the period of internship.
