About The Position

Rockbridge Area Health Center (RAHC) is seeking a Public Health Program Manager to lead and coordinate our School-Based Health Center (SBHC) program serving students across the Rockbridge region. This leadership role oversees program operations, school partnerships, grant reporting, and quality improvement initiatives to ensure students have access to high-quality, integrated healthcare services within their schools. This position is ideal for a mission-driven public health professional who enjoys building and strengthening community health programs for children and adolescents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing, Social Work, Education, or related field
  • 3–5 years of program management experience in healthcare, public health, or community-based programs
  • Experience managing grant-funded programs and reporting

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MPH, MHA, MSW, MBA, or related field)
  • Experience with school health programs or youth-serving organizations
  • Experience in FQHC or integrated care settings

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent implementation of SBHC protocols, workflows, and service models across all sites
  • Develop and maintain SBHC policies and procedures aligned with HRSA, DBHDS, FTCA, and RAHC standards
  • Conduct site reviews to ensure operational consistency and program quality
  • Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and nursing leadership to maintain clinical standards and evidence-based practices
  • Oversee SBHC data collection systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with grant requirements
  • Monitor key performance indicators including student utilization, access, referral completion, and outcomes
  • Generate performance dashboards and required grant reports
  • Ensure data integrity within the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives based on program data and stakeholder feedback
  • Serve as the primary liaison for school administrators, counselors, nurses, and district leadership
  • Strengthen partnerships with community organizations and healthcare providers
  • Facilitate regular stakeholder communication and meetings
  • Represent RAHC at school board meetings, community events, and related forums
  • Develop strategies to increase student enrollment and program utilization
  • Provide educational presentations for students, families, and school staff
  • Collaborate with RAHC marketing to develop outreach materials
  • Supervise SBHC program staff as assigned
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance evaluations
  • Coordinate scheduling, space utilization, and operational needs across school sites
  • Ensure readiness for audits, grant monitoring visits, and compliance reviews
  • Support implementation of new SBHC sites and service expansions
  • Assist with grant applications, renewals, and program sustainability planning
  • Identify strategic opportunities to strengthen and expand student health services
