About The Position

As the Public Art Program Coordinator, you will coordinate and manage public art projects Port-wide and work closely with artists, contractors and other internal and external stakeholders to create a visually engaging and culturally enriching environment for the public and employees. You will generate and manage Request for Quote (RFQs) for Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), including promotion on cultural websites and social media pages, schedule Q&A meetings, coordinate the submission process (combine submissions and organize panel meeting) and contact the artists selected. You will provide project coordination on multiple public art projects Port-wide, including site selection, budgeting and projects schedules. You will collaborate with artists, Central Procurement Office, contractors, consultants, architects, and other stakeholders to discuss and resolve issues during design, fabrication, and installation phase. You will develop and maintain collection files in a central location for proper record keeping of both hard copy and electronic files. You will oversee collection management including art appraisal, Capital Asset Inventory Validations and submitting asset plans. You will coordinate the organization of art tours at the airport and Pier 69. You will assist in long-range planning (5-year CIP plan) and goals, conduct research and develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for the Public Art program. You will coordinate and maintain the Public Art program website and collaborate with External Relations to promote projects on social media and initial press releases. You will co-lead and facilitate meetings with key stakeholders to provide updates, seek feedback, and collaborate with internal and external members during the Port-Wide Art Board meetings and the annual report to the Commission.

Requirements

  • Experienced – You have four (4) years of experience in project coordination related to art in a museum, gallery, public and/or corporate space.

  • Analytical – You are skilled in collecting, evaluating and interpreting information and data from multiple sources. You can prepare spreadsheets, reports, and presentations.
