We are recruiting for the following position: Sea Mar is a mandatory COVID-19 and flu vaccine organization Position Summary Supports physical therapy care delivery by preparing treatment area, patient, equipment and materials; performing procedures under the supervision of a physical therapist or occupational therapist.   • CPR Certification for Healthcare Providers – can be provided by Sea Mar
  • Infection Control Compliance – training will be provided by Sea Mar
  • Medical Screening Requirements Pre-hire and annual employee health screening required.
  • Annual influenza vaccine required. Only exception is for employees with a medical or religious exemption approved by Administration. Employees with an approved medical or religious exemption must wear a mask at all times during the flu season.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Prepares treatment area for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
  • Prepares patients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, providing and/or assisting patient into physical therapy apparel or apertures.
  • Provides information to patients by answering questions and requests; allaying fears.
  • Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
  • Helps treat patients by applying heat or cold packs; paraffin dips; helping patients onto exercise equipment; monitoring motion; tracking walking time and distance; measuring mobility; monitoring prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.
  • Ability to monitor vital signs and communicate any changes in condition to staff physical therapist or other facility personnel as appropriate.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential, adhering to all HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Provides equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering equipment and supplies to treatment area; positioning equipment for therapist access; positioning patient on equipment.
  • Ensures operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instruction; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains physical therapy supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Adheres to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCAHO standards.
  • Participates in educational opportunities; reads professional publications and articles; maintains networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
