Performs physical therapy treatment s under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. The Licensed Physical Therapist may modify an intervention only in accordance with changes in the patient status and within the scope of the plan of care that has been established by the physical therapist. The following functions are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties: Demonstrate and articulate sound clinical reasoning in treatment planning, implementation and monitoring of patient progress Recognize when standards patient protocols or treatment plans need modification to meet individual patient needs and reports to therapist Understand the role of therapy in the context of the patient’s age, totals need perspective and environment Perform age appropriate competency skills with respect to individual patient’s problem Consistently report to physical therapist, patient progress/status to allow for update of goals and modifications by physical therapist of treatment program Consistently meets patient care productivity standard for position Work cooperatively with peers to contribute to the overall productivity of the department Actively support and participate in cross coverage efforts in the department. Assist the physical therapist’s assessment of the learning needs and capabilities of patients and caregivers with regard to age, level of understanding and emotional status.
