About The Position

This position provides behavioral health services to patients within Atrium Health’s Women’s Care division, specifically at Shelby Women's OBGYN clinics. The role involves completing psychosocial assessments, directing treatment through individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy, and managing clients in crisis. The psychotherapist will also support patient access to referrals and community resources, write treatment and discharge plans, and collaborate with guardians and community agencies. The role requires accurate and consistent documentation of patient care and timely billing information, as well as designing and implementing effective patient education. This is a part-time, salaried position, eligible for benefits, including educational opportunities and a competitive production incentive for fully licensed psychotherapists. The work schedule is typically Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with an option for hybrid/remote work up to 1.5 days virtually, depending on caseload and candidate mastery of essential functions.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant human services field such as Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy from an accredited school of graduate education required.
  • Full licensure in applicable state required.
  • 2 years clinical experience required.

  • Experience providing psychotherapy for the following is a plus: perinatal mental health, infertility, grief and loss, relationships/family systems, stress management, depression, anxiety, trauma, exposure to IPV/DV, parenting/motherhood, sexual/reproductive health

Responsibilities

  • Provides outpatient psychotherapy services to patients of Shelby Women's OBGYN clinics.
  • Completes psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, and supports patient access to referrals and community resources when needed.
  • Manages clients in crisis utilizing Shelby Women's Care OBGYN practice policies appropriate therapeutic skills and assessment techniques.
  • Writes appropriate treatment plans according to patient diagnosis, age and clinical presentation.
  • Writes appropriate discharge plans based on individual needs of client and follows through with termination process.
  • Collaborates with appropriate guardians and community agencies to insure effective service delivery.
  • Provides accurate and consistent documentation of patient care/response in the medical record.
  • Completes accurate and timely billing information.
  • Designs, plans, implements effective patient education.
  • Maintains open lines of communication, collaborates with healthcare team for patient outcome.
