Psychologist
About The Position
NaphCare is hiring a Psychologist to join our team of medical professionals in the AZ DOC - ASPC Eyman located at 4374 East Butte Avenue, Florence, Arizona. Pay rates range from $60.00 to $74.00 per hour based on shift, site needs, hire status, and experience. Full Time and Part Time positions may be available! As a Correctional Psychologist, you will provide psychological treatment and support to the facility residents while working alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex mental health needs.
Requirements
- Must hold a current, unrestricted Psychologist license in the STATE
- Be able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)
- Experience with underserved and marginalized populations, including those with mental health and substance use disorders
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse individuals, including other medical professionals, correctional staff and judges
- Ability to interpret and analyze data to create treatment plans
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information and integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
- Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in providing assessment and treatment of mental and emotional disorders of patients.
- Working with inmates to prepare them for reintegration into society, providing support for finding housing, employment, and other resources.
- Providing counseling and support to help inmates manage emotional challenges, cope with incarceration, and develop coping mechanisms.
- Coordinating, leading and participating in educational training activities related to mental health care
- Conducting risk assessments to identify potential dangers to inmates and the public, informing decisions about housing, treatment, and release
