About The Position

To provide direct psychological services within the Adult Admissions Unit. This work includes emergency services, diagnostic evaluations, capacity restoration services, group and individual therapy services, and other treatment services for severely disturbed adults who reside in the eastern region of the state.

Requirements

  • Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270).

Nice To Haves

  • Requires broad-based knowledge of psychological theory and its applications in the treatment of psychiatric disorders.
  • Thorough knowledge of core areas of normal and abnormal psychology include motivation, development, learning and psychotherapy.
  • Skill in provision of comprehensive psychological evaluations using objective and projective measures is essential, as well as providing a wide array of therapeutic interventions for patients with major emotional and behavioral disturbances.
