About The Position

THIS IS A PART TIME PSYCHOLOGIST SENIOR POSITION. This position is located in the Psychology Services Department. The Department operates from a strong theoretical base in Applied Behavior Analysis. Responsibilities include completing basic and specialized diagnostic assessments of cognitive and adaptive skills. Functional assessments of severe behavior disorders. Developing comprehensive training and treatment programs providing staff training. Providing supervision of behavior specialists and masters level psychologists. Assisting and consulting with other staff in conducting systematic analyses of intervention efforts, and participating in interdisciplinary process. Working with children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as people with co-occurring mental health and developmental disability diagnoses. Assist in specialized needs assessment clinics. ALL employees of Murdoch Center are designated as ESSENTIAL for adverse weather and emergency events.

Requirements

  • Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90-270) and two years of professional psychological experience, one of which must be postdoctoral. Refer to the law for specifics regarding experience requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced, demonstrated knowledge and application of psychological principles, theories, methods and procedures especially in the area of intellectual disabilities/developmental disabilities.
  • Advanced experience in functional analysis and intervention with people who have severe behavior disorders.
  • Experience in teaching and maintaining adaptive skills.
  • Advanced experience and knowledge in application and interpretation of psychological testing, including experience in the assessment of intellectual disabilities/developmental disabilities.
  • Demonstrated effective staff training and management strategies and ability to relate appropriately to clients and staff members.
