Psychologist II, CI
About The Position
The Psychologist II, CI will provide psychological services in Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, a maximum-security forensic hospital.� This includes assessment and treatment of patients, including the use of psychological test and related procedures.� Individuals hospitalized include person charged with serious violent felonies (e.g. murder, arson, sexual offenses, etc.) and patients referred from prisons, detention centers, courts and other mental health facilities not able to effectively treat them due to the level of violence, behavioral disturbance or risk of escape.� The position also involves providing forensic psychological evaluations of outpatient pretrial defendants charges with serious violent felonies.� In addition to the aforementioned essential duties, Psychologist II, CI staff may provide coverage for the Psychology Director during his/her absence from the facility.
Requirements
- Education:� Determined by the Maryland State Board of Examiners of Psychologists under the licensing requirements for Psychologists.
- Experience:��Two years of experience rendering psychological services or engaged in psychological research after receipt of the�Psychologist license.
- Candidates for this classification must be licensed as a Psychologist by the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists prior to permanent appointment to a position.
- Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess�a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
