About The Position

Gillette is hiring a Licensed Psychologist to work with Adolescent and Adult patients at our Phalen Gillette Adult clinic in St Paul, MN! Support in applying for community, state, or federal loan forgiveness programs such as the MN Department of Health Urban Mental Health Professional Loan Forgiveness Program is offered. Purpose of Position: Within this role, you will have the opportunity to provide outpatient and virtual psychology services for patients aged 16 and above with childhood-onset medical conditions including cerebral palsy, spina bifida, neuromuscular disorders, orthopedic diagnoses (e.g., scoliosis; hip dysplasia), cognitive disorders, and more. Services provided will include: Psychological testing (e.g., IQ, academic, executive function, emotional, behavioral measures; testing to guide transition to adulthood such as concerns for guardianship or supported decision making) Psychotherapy: Common presentations include health behaviors (e.g., adherence, pain, sleep, adjustment to diagnosis/symptoms, healthcare transition to adult services) and broader mental health concerns (e.g., anxiety, depression, behavior) Pre-operative assessments and intervention Consultation and planning with various members of the care team – including medical providers, nursing, rehab therapists, social workers, and a multitude of others – will be an important component of your work. The position also allows for opportunity to supervise graduate-level practicum students, as well as engage in other growth opportunities as they arise. Of course, you will have the ability to join a fun, collaborative, and skilled team of psychologists & psychotherapists. Compensation and Benefits: The annual salary range for this opportunity is $101,400 to $152,068, with a median salary of $126,734 (note/adjust if not 1.0 FTE). Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience and internal equity. Salary is just one component of the compensation package for employees. Requirements

  • PhD. or Psy.D. in Psychology
  • Must be currently licensed psychologist through Minnesota Board of Psychology. Individuals new to MN licensure may begin employment in a license eligible status under the supervision of another licensed psychologist, as allowable by law.
  • Must obtain MN license within 90 days of hire.
  • Documented completion of an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship.
  • Current CPR certification (through American Heart Association) required, or must obtain certification within 90-days of hire.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs of patients and/or organizational needs.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of assessment techniques/tests and intervention strategies.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills which establish rapport with the patient and family and communicate effectively with other caregivers and staff.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, listening and written.
  • Must be able to accurately and effectively communicate written ideas in reports and chart notes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a hospital setting and with disabilities and chronic illness population is desirable.
  • Adults with childhood onset disabilities experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates patient’s status to determine psychosocial, mental health, and/or academic functioning in order to develop an effective intervention plan.
  • Implements effective and appropriate intervention plan that addresses identified problems and needs.
  • Delivers care that reflects the principles of patient and family centered care.
  • Interfaces with all resources to maximize service delivery and continuity of care.
  • May also be asked to complete administrative tasks, such as triaging referrals or consults, serving as a team member’s proxy in the EHR, onboarding new employees, responding to departmental phone calls or faxes, or working on efforts toward process or practice improvement. Additionally, if the discipline has a practicum student, intern, or fellow, the employee may be asked to help oversee, supervise, or otherwise contribute toward that individual’s work.
