About The Position

The psychologist provides integrated behavioral health services within a high-volume, fast-paced, residency training clinic that has a designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center. This position is embedded in a family primary care clinic and works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary medical team, including a behavioral health team, to provide primary care behavioral health services across the lifespan. The Family Health Center is the practice location and is the largest primary care clinic within the San Francisco Health Network. Patients are publicly insured and are seen for a variety of behavioral health and social/basic needs as part of the Primary Care Behavioral Health model of care. Requirements

  • Ph.D. degree in clinical psychology and one year of post-doctoral experience in clinical psychology; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position.
  • Possession of a valid California license as a psychologist.
  • Excellent clinical skills
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and ethical standards associated with profession.
  • Knowledge of business software and electronic/medical records systems.
  • Demonstrated record of working with patients within a system of public insurance and with diverse ethnic/racial, language, and economic factors.
  • Experience working across the lifespan, including a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and families.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary medical teams
  • Experience working within medical settings
  • Excellent communication skills for working with patients, clinic staff, and research staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with patients.
  • Experience collaborating with academic partners.
  • Fluency in Spanish for behavioral health interventions

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in safety net settings
  • Prior experience working within interdisciplinary medical settings
  • Prior experience working with HealthySteps or similar models of care
  • Prior experience working within Primary Care Behavioral Health or similar integrated behavioral health models
  • Possession of a valid California license as a psychologist.
