About The Position

The CARE Center at North Hennepin Community College provides counseling, programming, and support services related to students’ personal well-being and development. The mental health therapist provides a clinical perspective on the CARE Center team's holistic, multidisciplinary approach. Services include, but are not limited to, individual counseling, group therapy, case consultations, assessments, and crisis intervention. In addition, the position and department function as a vital part of the college community by completing outreach to student referrals, serving as advocates in multiple settings, hosting mental health and basic needs awareness building activities, and mental health focused educational programming for both students and staff.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, or Psychology required
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a licensed professional counselor or psychologist in an educational/college/university environment or in a private or public practice
  • Experience in providing individual and group therapy.
  • Current Minnesota Licensure as an LPC, LP, or LPCC as of the first day of employment
  • Demonstrated cultural competency in the field of counseling or psychology with experience serving diverse clients.

Nice To Haves
