Under the supervision of a Neuropsychologist, administers and scores neuropsychological and psychological tests, performs behavioral observation and documentation to aid in interpretation of test results. Requirements

  • Master's Degree Clinical Psychology
  • Master's Degree Counseling
  • Master's Degree School Psychology
  • No prior work experience
  • Demonstrates knowledge of psychological assessment measures and methods to act as a technical resource in a defined area.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office tools, such as Outlook, Excel and Teams.
  • Independently assesses relevant patient histories, administers appropriate assessment procedures, engages with patients to understand needs, supports attending psychologists in sharing findings with patients.
  • Strong rapport building skills in patient population with complex medical and behavioral backgrounds.
  • Ability to assess mental status of patients and use judgment and awareness of factors impacting validity of administered tests to achieve highest quality results.
  • Ability to communicate with families about the testing process and offers recommendations within their scope of practice.
  • Ability to summarize assessment results for the Neuropsychologist and other sub-specialty programs so they can provide high quality results.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with peers, medical staff, patients, families/caregivers and other constituents involved in patient care.
  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people with understanding and sensitivity to cultural and demographic differences.

Responsibilities

  • Directly administers face-to-face standardized and norm-referenced psychological assessments, evaluations, and related activities to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings with complex medical histories, which may require monitoring the mental status of patients and the use of judgement and awareness of factors impacting the validity of administered tests.
  • Directly coordinates with other providers for flexibility so that all services can be completed in a timely manner.
  • Documents behavioral observations and other pertinent information impacting validity of assessment data and relevance to supervising psychologists for diagnostic decision-making processes.
  • Contributes to quality control and adjudication of peer work as needed.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of confidential patient assessment protocols within the patient’s Electronic Medical Record in accordance with test security and copyright laws.
  • Organizes and maintains inventory supply for entire department and responsible for ordering testing materials.
  • Administers tests and assessments according to IRB rules and requirements and for quality assurance of scientific protocols.
  • Communicates with research sponsors and coordinators, administers developmental and psychological assessments within IRB approved protocols, provides reliable and valid data to contribute to developmental- and interventional-focused research trials.
  • Plans and maintains future follow-up evaluation schedule based on clinical study/medical treatment planning timeline requirements.
  • Maintains require certifications for participation in research endeavors to contribute to the basic fund of psychological knowledge.
  • Maintains professional competency by attending workshops and seminars, learning new and innovative methods of assessment and attending interdisciplinary conferences.
