The Psychiatrist functions as a key member of a multi-disciplinary team, applying the psychiatric knowledge and clinical skills acquired through training and experience to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to children and adult clients. This role is structured as a 50/50 split between direct patient care and resident education. The Psychiatrist will dedicate approximately 50% of their time to providing comprehensive psychiatric services. The remaining 50% of time will be devoted to teaching and mentoring psychiatry residents. Responsibilities include clinical instruction, case consultation, modeling best practices, supporting professional development, and contributing to an academic learning environment that promotes excellence in community psychiatry. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Wheeler Health offers the opportunity to practice mission-driven, community-based psychiatry while contributing to the training of the next generation of physicians. Eligible for a $20,000 sign on bonus. Half paid upon start and half after 1 year. Eligible for up to $250,000 in loan repayment through National Health Service Corp (NHSC).
