About The Position

Here at the Oklahoma Forensic Center the Clinical Services department is hiring a Board eligible or certified psychiatrist to provide care and treatment to persons in state custody. The responsibilities would include: Prepare a comprehensive initial intake assessment of new patients as assigned Order and review results of laboratory tests and develop treatment plan Provide psychotropic medication management for assigned patients in accordance with current medical standards and best practice guidelines Re-evaluations and ongoing assessments with treatment on a regular basis Provide psychoeducation to patients to keep them informed on medications and treatment plans Write appropriate medical orders for the paraprofessional staff of health care providers and mental health personnel Participate in on-call coverage regarding medical and psychiatric problems Supervises psychiatrists under supervision, interns, residents, and other professional and paraprofessionals as assigned

Requirements

  • Licensure to practice medicine in the State of Oklahoma and be Board eligible or certified to practice psychiatry.
  • Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
