About The Position

The Psychiatric Technician is responsible for supervising clients during scheduled shifts and provides individual support (i.e., life skills) for assigned clients. All work is performed in accordance with state regulations, CATCH Policies and Procedures and professional mental health standards.

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED with at least one year inpatient or emergency service experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must have an acceptable PA criminal history, FBI clearance and Child Abuse clearance done prior to hire.
• Must be physically able to: A) Assist client with personal hygiene; B) Assist with lifting client; C) Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel and climb; D) Restrain clients in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Telephone screening for prospective clients.
• Schedule and follow-up on client appointments.
• Accompany clients off site when necessary.
• Liaison between clients, case manager and crisis residence.
• Assist clients in obtaining long term housing.
• Participate in formulation of client’s care plan.
• Participation with client in his/her aftercare planning.
• Facilitate community meeting.
• Complete all documentation as required.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
