About The Position

Work Schedule Hours will vary based on the needs of the department. This is a 24/7 adult inpatient unit. Applicants must be flexible with wide availability. Qualifications Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Sixteen college credit hours in the Human Services Field is desired. Knowledge of the basic sciences underlying psychiatric care, psychology, sociology or social work is a plus. Experience working in the mental health field is preferred. Must be able to establish therapeutic interactions with patients. TEAM training will be required within 90 days of hire. Recipient Rights Training will be required within 30 days of hire. Responsibilities Provides therapeutic patient care. Has 1-1 interaction with all assigned patients. Runs groups and maintains accurate documentation. Assists in creating an environment that is clean, neat and conducive to patient care in activities of daily living. Assists patients in doing personal laundry and taking care of all their daily ADLs as needed. Answers the door and phone on the Unit following Unit policies ensuring patient confidentiality. Assists the RN and other disciplines in all activities of the unit as needed. Does patient rounds on time according to to the level of safety and immediately reports any safety concerns to the RN. Exhibits safety awareness including environmental rounds each shift looking for any safety issues including contraband. Assists in a program of scheduled activities for patient population, which may include task completion, daily living skills, self-esteem/confidence, group cohesion, leisure skills, reality orientation, and communication. Ensures patients participate in setting daily goals, self-assessments and Discharge Safety Plans. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and diagnosis of the patients. Maintains documentation that is clear, accurate, and complete in all areas. Ensures the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information at all times, sharing confidential information only with those who have a need to know in order to perform their jobs.
