Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • Basic Skills Requirement
  • A valid license as a clinical social worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences OR immediate registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker upon date of hire.
  • One of the following California credentials authorizing K-12 service must be in force and on file in the Office of the Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools: or hold a valid Services Credential with specialization in health designating social work service
  • Hold a valid Pupil Personnel Services Credential California Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing service in social work
  • A valid Services Credential with specialization in health designating social work service
  • Complete application
  • Provide relevant documents:
  • Basic Skills Requirement
  • Official Transcripts, including Master of Social Work degree
  • Copy of credential
  • Upload a current resume
  • Upload a cover letter
  • Must be a maximum of two pages; it must describe your experience and training by covering all of the following four areas:
  • Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to address barriers to learning and to restore and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for students and parents
  • Utilizing evidenced and/or evidenced informed practices or specialized training
  • Guiding and informing students, parents, and school staff on psychoeducation and available resources
  • Responding to crisis, critical incidents, and emergency situations
  • Provide contact information for professional references, including current or most recent school-based or child-centered employment
