About The Position
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Child & Adolescent (Weekend PRN) The Brook – KMI is a 98-bed hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, residential, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for adolescents, adults and seniors. Our specialized treatment services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, addiction counselors, nurses, pastoral counselors and activity therapists. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner board certification
- Licensed APRN-CNP
- Current CPR
- Behavioral Health Nursing experience providing direct patient care, SUD experience preferred.
- Minimum of 3 yeras experience as an APRN
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
- Administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
- Assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations.
- Initiate and document special treatment procedures.
- Provide and direct milieu management.
- Document nursing care, treatment and patient’s response to treatment.
- Provide health education to patients.
- Provide professional treatment for IOP/PHP for patients with mental health and/or substance use diagnosis
- Perform call coverage for the facilities in accordance with call coverage schedule.
- Keep and maintain appropriate records, reports, claims, and correspondence necessary and appropriate in connection with all professional services.
