What does a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner- Child & Adolescent RU 325 do? As a Full-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will play a critical role in delivering quality medical evaluation and management to individuals grappling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. You will provide initial evaluations, crisis assessments, and ongoing treatment while offering education and supportive counseling. You'll have the opportunity to prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, as well as evidence-based medication-assisted therapies (MAT) for those affected by opioid use and other substance disorders. Engaging with patients and their families, you will tailor health regimens to account for mental, cultural, and financial factors, ensuring a holistic approach to care.
