Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
About The Position
At Easterseals PORT Health, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mid-level Medical Provider, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician's Assistant (PA), to join our Outpatient Therapy Team (OPT) in New Bern, NC. As a valued member of our collaborative and supportive team, you will work together to transform the lives of individuals by providing a comprehensive range of services that treat the whole person and empower patients to find their way forward. The primary purpose of this role is to provide stabilization and treatment services to patients with a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis and will work in collaboration with other clinical professions to facilitate positive outcomes for them.
Requirements
- Current NC License to practice or Certification Required as a NP or PA
- Experience managing mental health diagnosis including depression, anxiety, bipolar and psychotic disorders required
Nice To Haves
- Substance Use and/or Medication Assisted Treatment experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide stabilization and treatment services to patients with a mental health and/or substance use diagnosis
- Work in collaboration with other clinical professions to facilitate positive outcomes for patients
- Give medical diagnosis
- Order therapy
- Prescribe medications
- Perform medication management
- Maintain accurate and up to date referral sources
- Maintain a therapeutic environment
- Promote appropriate and healthy interpersonal behavior
