Penobscot Community Health Care is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our flagship site, Penobscot Community Health Center , located in the heart of Bangor, Maine . This is a unique opportunity to become part of a well-established Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional integrated, patient-centered care . As PCHC’s flagship location, Penobscot Community Health Center serves as a central hub for collaboration and innovation in community health across the Bangor region. Conveniently situated near major travel routes and public transportation, it offers both accessibility and strong connections to a wide network of community resources and partnerships. Our practice provides a comprehensive range of primary care services, including behavioral health, recovery services, and medication-assisted treatment , all within a collaborative care model. Please note: Candidates must have completed the required 24-month supervision period to be considered. Responsibilities

  • Establish strong therapeutic relationships to support patient progress and treatment goals
  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, determine diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate treatments for a wide range of psychiatric conditions
  • Collaborate with and seek consultation from physicians as appropriate
  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based psychotherapy tailored to a diverse patient population
  • Conduct and document psychiatric evaluations and medication management follow-ups
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy services
  • Offer consultation and support to PCHC medical providers
