About The Position

Leads development and execution of quality, logistics, and transportation strategies for the mill, and support company initiatives in these areas. Responsible for relevant costs and budgets, including MOT (Mode of Transportation), through working with mill, Motor Canin Manager(MCM), and Center for Transportation Excellence(CTE) personnel. Acts as liaison for key contractors in the areas of Quality and Transportation. Develops, maintains, and uses reliable methods for all relevant processes and their improvements. Site coordinator for Omega and other critical business software for quality, warehouse management, and logistics. Supports and leads efforts at Maysville Mill that include an injury-free environment through role modeling safe behavior, active involvement in safety activities and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment. Works closely with IP corporate support teams, including supply chain operations, CTE, MCM, Supply Planning, Replenishment Planning , and Centers of Excellence. Leadership role in ensuring team member relations, efforts, and processes are in place to maximize team member engagement and results. Leadership role in ensuring all team members have a positive, productive, and safe work environment. Understands and meets internal and external customer requirements. Specifically, ensure communication and processes are in place to maximize positive relations with the mill’s customers, including box-plants and at the corporate level. Coordinate all customer interactions with the mill, including resolution of quality issues, changes in quality specifications, and site visits. Able to operate and maintain all test equipment in the Dry End Lab, including making small repairs to benchtop units and the Autoline. Leader of the Quality/Transportation Support Team ensuring team member relations, efforts and processes are in place to maximize team member engagement and results. Maintains and develops team relationships, both within the mill and within the company. Willingness to travel and provide support to the mill outside normal business hours, including nights and weekends. Positive, upbeat attitude that instills confidence in personal leadership ability. Fullfill area specific 5S expectations(5 Minute 5S Checklists Replenishment of tools and supplies, 5S Audits,etc)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an applied science, engineering field, logistics, business or similar degree Preferred
  • Management and Leadership experience required with five plus years manufacturing experience.
  • Experience managing warehouse, quality and logistics systems.
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience as primary communication interface with contractors, manufacturing leaders, and suppliers, including internal and external customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient with Proficy (quality management systems).
  • Knowledge of relevant OSHA and IPG standards and regulations.
