About The Position

Position to be filled at the Senior Consultant or Consultant level. Senior Consultant The Strategic Business Development Senior Consultant bridges operational execution and strategic planning by managing complex initiatives that span multiple service lines and programs. This role is responsible for leading and managing strategic planning for focus program service lines with additional responsibility for reviewing, researching, assessing, analyzing and implementing strategic initiatives, projects and development initiatives. This involves the coordination of complex programs in the development and implementation of organizational goals and strategic objectives. Responsible for recommending financial and non-financial strategic alternatives. Assists and works independently on the implementation of initiatives including project management, facilitation and operational planning; direction is provided by the Resource Manager and depends on experience and scope. The senior consultant tracks progress against the strategic plan and includes the identification, analysis and monitoring of issues and outcomes. Prepares and delivers communication initiatives for intended audiences, including the executive team, board members, Operations Team, Strategic Planning Group, and others as required. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. With a focus on growth and alignment, this position conducts pro-forma analyses, develops actionable strategies, and crafts recommendations for enhancing service delivery. The Senior consultant is also responsible for creating and delivering targeted communication plans for diverse audiences, such as leadership teams, operational groups, and other key players. Key qualifications include strong problem-solving abilities, budget and resource management skills, and the capacity to balance competing interests within a dynamic environment contributing to Seattle Children's broader strategic success. This role acts in an informal lead capacity for other consultants. Senior consultants also train operations VPs and Directors on business development processes to enhance the skill set of those outside of S&BD. Consultant Works closely with assigned Consulting Principals, Resource Manager, the Strategy & Business Development leadership, and the project team leaders to review, research, assess, analyze, and implement strategic initiatives, projects, and development initiatives involving the coordination of complex multiple service lines and programs with competing interests. Following established frameworks, the consultant partners with sponsors to manage projects and initiatives throughout the entire plan-do-check-act (PDCA) cycle by resolving risks, anticipating and solving issues, and allocating and managing budgets and other related resources. Collaborates with strategy and business development staff to create vision, pro-forma analysis, and recommended steps required to position services for growth and to ensure alignment with overall strategic objectives. Prepares and delivers communication initiatives for intended audiences, including employees, leadership, operations teams, strategic planning groups, and others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or healthcare related field.
  • Minimum eight years in consulting, strategic planning, business development, and/or project leadership in healthcare or in related industries with comparable responsibilities and scope.
  • Minimum six years working in complex health care setting in a leadership/management role, or equivalent experience in roles with comparable responsibilities and scope.
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with executive team, third party providers, governmental agencies, health plans, external vendors, consultants and other purchased services.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in health administration, business or health-related field.
  • Minimum four years related experience in consulting, strategic planning, business development and or project management.
  • Minimum two years experience working in a complex health care setting.
  • Demonstrated successful experience working with internal management, external vendors, consultants and other purchased services.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration or healthcare related field.
  • Eight years progressively responsible experience in strategic planning, business development or project management.
  • Significant and demonstrated expertise in leading complex change management in an multifaceted organizational setting.
  • General knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, CPI and or Kaizen.
  • Master’s Degree in healthcare administration, business administration or health-related field.
  • Six years progressive experience in consulting, strategic planning and or business development.
  • Demonstrated successful experience leading complex change management in an organizational setting.
