Requirements

  • High School diploma required, college degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information in a clear, concise manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to memorize and retain information

Nice To Haves

  • Medical background, claims experience and/or experience with Alabama Medicaid is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • The Provider Relations Representative acts as a liaison between the Medicaid Agency and the provider community.
  • Plans and conducts provider educational workshops for all provider types.
  • Conducts individual on-site visits to providers.
  • Installs and troubleshoots Provider Electronic Solutions (PES) software and educate the provider community on the advantages of electronic filing, also trains on Medicaid’s Interactive Web Portal.
  • Trains Account and Medicaid staff on new program changes.
  • Responds to written inquiries from the agency and provider community in a prompt, professional manner.
  • Completes the necessary hours to meet all deadlines and objectives.
  • Assists with other accounts within the department as needed.
  • Analyzes, reports, and identifies all trends which could lead to billing problems.
