The Bosch Research and Technology Center North America with offices in Sunnyvale, California, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Cambridge, Massachusetts is a part of the global Bosch Group (www.bosch.com), a company with over 70 billion euro revenue, 400,000 employees worldwide, a very diverse product portfolio, and a history spanning over 125 years. The Research and Technology Center North America (RTC-NA) is dedicated to providing technologies and system solutions for various Bosch business fields, primarily in the field of artificial intelligence, energy technologies, internet technologies, circuit design, semiconductors and wireless, as well as advanced MEMS design. Provide technical support to the Bosch water electrolysis research team for electrolysis cell testing and characterization. The intern responsibility includes assembling test rigs, operating/monitoring electrolysis test benches, processing and interpretating testing results, and carrying out physical analysis. Additional responsibilities may include further development of testing methodology and/or further development of lab scale test capability.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Sciences or related technical fields.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Strong foundation on electrochemistry.
  • Experience with electrochemical testing equipment.
  • Familiar with data processing and interpretation.
  • Be enthusiastic and able to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Curious and passionate about learning and exploring.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into simple to understand, communicable ideas.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands on experience with PEM water electrolysis or fuel cell testing hardware and equipment. This ideally includes subscale or short-stack testing.
  • Experience with advanced characterization techniques, e.g., SEM, XRF, XRD, gas MS, etc.
  • Experience with script coding, data analysis automation and interpretation.
  • Publications to demonstrate past work in the hydrogen energy conversion field.
