What you’ll be challenged to do: During your internship, you will work on a highly functioning team and aid in providing design services for a wide variety of projects. You'll receive guidance, supervision and mentorship by experienced engineers and professionals with your success as the goal. The majority of our interns convert to full-time employees.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Demonstrated interest in stormwater and environmental engineering through applied coursework or previous internships.
  • Familiarity with software tools such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with HydroCAD, StormCAD, WaterCAD or Hydraflow software.

Responsibilities

  • Support real client projects by assisting in the design of highway drainage systems, green Infrastructure, and stormwater management basins under supervision.
  • Assist in performing hydrologic watershed modeling and basic hydraulic models.
  • Aid in conducting bridge scour analyses and simple scour countermeasure designs.
  • Assist with drafting construction plans and preparing environmental permit applications.
