About The Position

The Opportunity : The Protocol Officer is a core member of the protocol team responsible for the detailed planning and hands-on execution of offi cia l visits, ceremonies, and spe cia l events. You’ll work under the guidance of senior protocol staff to manage a variety of logistical and procedural tasks, ensuring that all events are c ond ucted with precision and in accordance with established etiquette. You will handle direct coordination with distinguished visitors and their staffs, manage event components from start to finish, and serve as a knowledge able resource on protocol matters for the organization. What You’ll Do: Coordinate the end-to-end logistics for visits by distinguished guests, including arranging accommodations, transportation, and detailed itineraries. Draft and prepare essential event documents such as offi cia l agendas, biographies, scene-setters, and sequence of events. Serve as an offi cia l escort for visitors, accompanying them to meetings and events to ensure their needs are met and the schedule is maintained. Assist in the planning and execution of offi cia l ceremonies and so cia l functions, with specific responsibility for tasks like seating arrangements, invitation management, and menu coordination. Act as a point of contact for inquiries from internal staff, external organizations, and vendors regarding event logistics and protocol requirements. Manage the inventory of offi cia l gifts, flags, and other protocol assets, and assist with the selection of appropriate gifts. C ond uct research on cultural customs, biographical information, and diplomatic etiquette to support event planning. Requirements

  • Experience managing logistics for meetings, conferences, or offi cia l visits
  • Experience drafting professional corresp ond ence and event- related materials
  • Experience with event management sof t war e and databases
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Political Science, International Relations, or Public Administration field and 5+ years of experience in protocol, event planning, or a field such as military aide, VIP hospitality, or government affairs, OR 10+ years of experience in protocol, event planning, or a field such as military aide, VIP hospitality, or government affairs in lieu of a degree
