About The Position

We are seeking a Protein Purification Analytical Scientist to support a client team responsible for developing robust and efficient purification processes for recombinant proteins and other biologic therapeutics across early to late development stages. In this role, you will work collaboratively within a process development environment to perform analytical testing, characterize in‑process samples, and support optimization of product recovery and impurity reduction. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with analytical biochemical techniques—especially HPLC/UPLC (SEC, HIC, IEX, RP) and Octet—and thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven laboratory environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • BS: 2–4 years relevant experience
  • MS: 0–2 years relevant experience
  • Experience with HPLC/UPLC methods including SEC, HIC, IEX, and RP.
  • Hands-on experience with protein purification and analytical characterization techniques.
  • Proficiency with Octet systems strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Empower and/or ChemStation is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce high-quality, reproducible data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common data analysis software.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, multitask effectively, and maintain accurate and compliant documentation.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, troubleshooting skills, and scientific problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a positive and adaptable mindset.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine analytical testing to support protein purification and process development activities.
  • Apply expertise in analytical chemistry and biochemical characterization techniques to assess process performance.
  • Analyze, monitor, and interpret in‑process samples to evaluate product quality, recovery, and impurity clearance.
  • Execute separation and detection methods including HPLC/UPLC (SEC, HIC, IEX, RP), affinity assays, and Octet binding analysis.
  • Utilize SDS‑PAGE, ELISA, and other protein chemistry assays; experience with lab‑scale purification is a plus.
  • Use Empower and/or ChemStation for instrument control, data collection, and analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality analytical data supporting early clinical development.
  • Maintain accurate electronic lab notebooks and database records in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Lead routine calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs of analytical instrumentation.
  • Partner with internal teams and external vendors to support safe, efficient, and continuously improving lab operations.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical coverage, dental, and vision options
  • Life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid vacation and holidays
