This Position is Open to Alaska Residents Only. The Ketchikan Pioneer Home (KPH) is Recruiting for a Full-Time Protective Services Specialist 1 - Activities Department Lead. The Mission of the Division of the Alaska Pioneer Homes Is: "Providing elder Alaskans a home and community, celebrating life through its final breath." This position is a member of the Ketchikan Pioneer Home and plays a vital role in providing person-centered support in a safe environment for up to forty-five (45) elders. What You Will Be Doing: Plan and set up activity programs based on recreational, spiritual and community interests while meeting the social needs of the elders including group and individual activities. Coordinate volunteers and members of the public wishing to visit or provide services in the home. Serve as lead of the Activities Department and oversee the work of the department Assisted Living Aide/Certified Nurse Aides. Assist Protective Services Specialist 3 in admissions and level of care assessments. Other Job Information: This position is in support of the Pioneer Home, which is a 24-hour facility. This Pioneer Home is an Eden Alternative facility, where the environment includes contact with plants, flowers, and pets including cats, dogs, fish, and birds. Employees of the Pioneer Home receive continual screening for tuberculosis and criminal history.
