About The Position

Spacecraft Propulsion Assembly Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and functionality of satellite propulsion subsystems. Key responsibilities include verifying part compliance prior to assembly, torch brazing, performing mechanical assembly and electrical wiring tasks, and conducting subsystem inspections using advanced methods such as electrical controls, dimensional checks, leak tests, flow rate measurements, magnetic inspections, and vibration testing. The role also involves documenting anomaly reports for non-conformities, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and contributing to process improvements related to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and operational efficiency. This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive professional committed to delivering high-quality results in a dynamic aerospace environment. This role will regularly work with electrical, magnetic, and vibrations test equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of mechanical assembly experience in Aerospace or Medical industry
  • Ability to perform well and maintain production flow under noisy and disruptive situations
  • Excellent dexterity and good eyesight. Requires assembly of small components and fine adjustments to close tolerances
  • Experience with ESD safety requirements
  • Use of measuring tools and hand tools
  • Able to fit and bond parts and mechanical parts using adhesives to meet specifications and requirements
  • Structured and detail-oriented, with excellent dexterity
  • Curious and eager to learn new disciplines
  • Respectful of rules and safety compliance
  • Proactive in advancing production tasks
  • Ability to work independently
  • Able to self-check and inspect work in process
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required.

Nice To Haves

  • Brazing experience
  • Vibration testing experience
  • Experience working in an AS9100 compliant environment
  • Experience with 5S housekeeping practices
  • Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment
  • Fluency in French is a plus, but not required
  • Understanding of vibration testing software a plus
  • Familiarity with EAR and ITAR compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the compliance of parts before assembly
  • Detailed mechanically assembling the satellite propulsion subsystems by following work instructions
  • Torch brazing
  • Performing electrical wiring and connector assembly
  • Provide assembly / test support to engineers during the build and testing phases
  • Inspecting subsystems through various controls: Electrical controls Dimensional checks Leak tests Flow rate measurements Magnetic inspections Vibration testing
  • Documenting anomaly reports in the event of non-conformities
  • Maintaining and cleaning workstations and facilities
  • Proposing improvements related to: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Workflow/operational efficiency
