The Proposal Writer role involves maintaining and updating the Qvidian database, working closely with subject matter experts from various areas within Trustmark to gather responses, and completing required documents using database responses to effectively support the Regional Sales team, producers, and clients, ultimately aiming to increase sales for Voluntary Benefits. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in proposal writing or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the RFP process and experience responding to RFPs.
  • Excellent organization skills, adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously, committed to follow through and completing assignments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Interpersonal effectiveness with proven ability to establish/maintain mutually respectful relationships with peers and customers; handle conflict, resolve complex issues
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office and other relevant software.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Working knowledge of voluntary products with emphasis on Universal Life, Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Disability and Critical Illness
  • Working knowledge of voluntary product administration and enrollment practices.
  • Project Management experience
  • Prior experience maintaining a data base of information

Responsibilities

  • Maintain/update a library of proposal content, templates, and other resources
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to gather or update information and develop compelling content
  • Act as main contact for database vendor – including updated training, verifying efficiently of database, and effectively using the most up to date tools and technology available to Voluntary Benefits
  • Develop and write high-quality responses to RFPs, questionnaires and templates including executive summaries, cover letters, etc.
  • Edit and proofread documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
  • Deliver the completed document(s) timely and accurately to the Regional Sales Teams
  • Track and report on questionnaire, template and Formal RFP activity included status results (Sold, Closed, etc.)
  • Conduct research to ensure responses are well-informed and competitive
  • Proactively gather Voice of the Customer information/feedback from Regional Sales Team with the intent of constant improvement to our responses and outputs.
