Requirements

  • Experience using AI platforms to accelerate copy, content, and graphic products
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Technical Writing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 3 - 5+ years of professional experience in marketing communications, technical writing, or a combined role.
  • Demonstrated ability to write for multiple audiences — from C-suite executives to engineers and program managers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and at minimum one desktop publishing or design tool (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Canva, Figma).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines.
  • Exceptional editing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required (federal contracting environment).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting defense contractors, government agencies, or federal IT/technology firms.
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition frameworks (e.g., DoD 5000.02, AAF), digital engineering policy, and/or PLM technology.
  • Background in or exposure to SaaS/cloud platforms, software development environments, or systems engineering.
  • Experience with proposal writing or capture support (e.g., Section L/M compliance, executive summaries).
  • Knowledge of content management systems (CMS), marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp), or CRM tools.
  • Active DoD security clearance, or willingness and eligibility to obtain one.
  • Society for Technical Communication (STC) certification or equivalent professional credential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns that support Sabel's brand positioning in the defense digital engineering and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) market.
  • Write persuasive, audience-appropriate copy for sales campaigns, social media, trade show materials, and digital advertising.
  • Produce product and solution one-pagers, capability statements, and brochures aligned to DoD acquisition phases and customer pain points.
  • Maintain and evolve Sabel's brand voice, messaging framework, and visual identity standards across all external-facing materials.
  • Support event marketing including defense conferences (e.g., NDIA, AFCEA, I/ITSEC), webinars, and trade shows.
  • Develop and maintain a library of executive-level sales presentations tailored to specific customer segments, DoD program offices, and acquisition opportunities.
  • Produce capability briefings, solution overviews, and competitive positioning decks for BD and capture teams.
  • Translate technical roadmaps, product architectures, and deployment models into compelling executive narratives.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Solutions Engineering to tailor materials for specific opportunities, proposals, and gate reviews.
  • Create customer-facing ROI analyses, value proposition narratives, and use case vignettes that support the sales cycle.
  • Research, draft, and publish white-papers on topics including digital engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), BOM management, cloud migration, PLM modernization, and AI integration in defense acquisition.
  • Synthesize input from subject matter experts (SMEs), program data, and open-source research into polished, publication-quality documents.
  • Support Sabel's thought leadership positioning by contributing content to industry publications, conference proceedings, and Sabel's website/blog.
  • Develop ConOps documents, position papers, and technical narratives for specific government program opportunities.
  • Author, maintain, and version-control user manuals, administrator guides, and quick-start references for Sabel's suite of software products.
  • Produce operations manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system administration guides for deployed environments including IL4/IL5/IL6 cloud configurations.
  • Work with engineering and product teams to document APIs, system architectures, data flows, and integration patterns in a format accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support the development of training materials, video scripts, and interactive guides for product onboarding.
