About The Position

AC Martin, Inc. is a leading architecture and design firm with a legacy of shaping iconic spaces through innovative design and strategic vision. We pursue projects across public and private sectors, and we are seeking a Proposal Manager who is passionate about creating winning proposals and managing the end-to-end process with precision, creativity, and storytelling. The Proposal Manager will lead the development, strategy, and production of high-impact proposals, including complex, multi-phase design-build projects. Serving as the marketing lead on some of AC Martin’s most challenging pursuits, this role is ideal for someone who thrives on crafting compelling narratives, coordinating talented teams, and delivering proposals that win work. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking, strong writing and storytelling, and exceptional visual and graphic design skills to create proposals that clearly communicate AC Martin’s design excellence and value, while seamlessly weaving team strategy into both the visuals and narrative.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10+ years of proposal management experience, ideally in architecture, engineering, or construction.
  • Proven success in managing multi-phase design-build and complex project proposals.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Suite, including PowerPoint and Teams, and managing and pulling data from Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • Experience with Monday.com is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance exceptional graphics, and storytelling/writing to produce persuasive proposals.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and strategic mindset to drive pursuit strategy and positioning, including assisting with early-stage pre-RFQ planning.
  • Passionate about winning work and managing the proposal process from start to finish.
  • Excellent project management, organization, and multitasking skills under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and effective at collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, principals, and external partners.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with 3 days per week in downtown Los Angeles.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without needing a work visa or residency sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of public sector RFP processes, design-build, and integrated project delivery.
  • Experience in large-scale design build pursuits.
  • Awareness of industry trends and competitive landscape in architecture and design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the whole proposal process, from initial strategy and content planning to production and submission, ensuring high-quality, visually compelling, and persuasive deliverables.
  • Collaborate with our Executive Team, Principals, Project Teams, and Business Development staff to conceptualize pursuit strategy, win themes, and positioning.
  • Engage early, before RFQ/Ps hit the street, to help position AC Martin for success.
  • Develop compelling narratives and visual storytelling that clearly communicate AC Martin’s expertise, design approach, and value proposition.
  • Apply visual acuity and exceptional graphic design skills to layout, infographics, and presentation materials using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Manage proposal schedules, deadlines, and team coordination to ensure a smooth, efficient workflow.
  • Collaborate in coaching the project team on presentation best practices to support wins in an interview setting.
  • Utilize Monday.com and other tools to track proposal progress, assignments, and communications.
  • Work with the Marketing/Communication team using Deltek, Open Asset, and other tools to maintain company qualification materials, boilerplate, project data, and staff resumes, ensuring proposal content is current and accurate.
  • Mentor and guide junior proposal staff, fostering a culture of excellence, creativity, and collaboration.
