About The Position

Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare proposal drawings, sketches and working models. Responsible for producing detailed volume/weight estimates for products to be manufactured by ORBIS. Performs all necessary engineering assessments in coordination with Proposal and Engineering Manager (ensuring that sufficient data is provided) for others to develop accurate quotations from, that are within the scope of the companies' ability and at the required level of profitability. Utilize computer aided drafting equipment in the development of the data required for others to correctly estimate costs. Also includes sufficient information to satisfy the customer’s inquiry and demonstrate the abilities of ORBIS. Regularly confers with the Proposal & Engineering Manager keeping same informed of all activity, seeking advice, direction and instruction as deemed necessary and appropriate. Performs miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as directed. Empowerment to take responsibility for the quality of work performed

Requirements

• Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Physical Attributes: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
