About The Position

The Property Officer position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and academic training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24. The Property / Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing the center’s property, equipment, and the warehousing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience an education.
  • Valid state driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all organizational integrity standards and ensures accuracy and transparency in all data and recordkeeping practices.
  • Ensures team members are properly trained to perform their responsibilities effectively.
  • Provides and documents training, including cross-training within the department to support operational continuity.
  • Actively participates in leadership and operational meetings.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintains compliance with all internal policies, safety standards, and reporting requirements, including workers’ compensation processes.
  • Establishes and maintains effective inventory control systems to ensure accurate tracking and accountability of assets.
  • Ensures all property, equipment, and materials are properly recorded, tracked, and maintained.
  • Oversees the tagging and identification of equipment and property, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for both company-owned and non-company-owned assets.
  • Conducts and manages routine inventory reviews, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections to ensure proper tracking and condition of assets.
  • Maintains logs for off-site property and ensures appropriate documentation is in place.
  • Prepares and reviews regular reports related to property, equipment, and asset acquisitions.
  • Ensures timely and accurate documentation of new assets and maintains all required records and tracking systems.
  • Maintains and updates internal systems related to asset and fleet management.
  • Reviews and approves vendor invoices related to leased equipment or vehicles, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Collaborates with external partners or agencies, as needed, to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Provides support and services to staff and students as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conducts training sessions related to inventory management and departmental procedures.
  • Ensures the warehouse is adequately stocked to support operational needs.
  • Partners with departments to ensure vehicles are properly maintained, repaired, and used in accordance with organizational guidelines.
  • Reviews vehicle inspection reports and identifies maintenance needs.
  • Monitors vehicle usage, mileage, and logs, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Reports any policy violations or irregularities related to vehicle use.
  • Ensures vehicles are clean, safe, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Monitors departmental budget and expenditures, ensuring alignment with approved spending limits.
  • Tracks monthly spending and provides insights on variances, including over- or under-spending.
  • Notifies leadership of any significant or non-routine repair costs or expenditures.
  • Ensures all department equipment is properly maintained, accounted for, and in good working condition.
