About The Position

Works under supervision to provide claims service to customers using multiple communication channels. Evaluates initial claims for completeness, processes payments and contacts the customer to explain settlements. Escalates problems to resolve any coverage issues or damage disputes. Works with moderate supervision to deliver high-quality property claims service to customers through multiple communication channels. The Property Desk Adjuster is responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and resolving low to moderately complex property claims, issuing payments, and clearly explaining claim decisions to customers. This role ensures compliance with policy provisions, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements while escalating complex coverage questions, damage disputes, or exceptions as appropriate.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Computer literate in a Windows operating environment.
  • This position will require an Insurance Adjuster's license. You must pass a licensing exam within a designated number of attempts and can become licensed in all applicable states. Allcat will provide the study and training environment to assist you with the licensing exam.
  • Strong customer service, communication, organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with routine and/or repetitive activities but also be responsive to disruption and change.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and easily acclimates to changes in process/systems for overall improvement of the organization.
  • Must be accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems, tools, and technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree.
  • Prior property claims adjusting experience.
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Experience using XactAnalysis and Xactimate.
  • Active adjuster’s License.
  • Prior military experience.

Responsibilities

  • Processes payments for low to moderately complex claims.
  • Collaborates with internal resources to facilitate claims resolution.
  • Contributes to business goals, performance metrics, and effectively uses tools & technology.
  • Supports workload surges and/or catastrophe operations as needed to include working significant overtime during designated catastrophe events.
  • Acquires and applies basic knowledge of claims insurance industry products, services, and processes to include insurance policy contracts and coverage's and how they affect the status of the claim.
  • Reviews and processes low to moderately complex property claims in accordance with policy coverage, company guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Issues payments and communicates settlement decisions, claim status, and next steps to customers via phone, email, and other approved communication methods.
  • Accurately documents all claim activity, contacts, and decisions within claims systems.
  • Collaborates with internal partners, including field adjusters, leadership, quality assurance, and support teams, to facilitate timely and effective claim resolution.
  • Utilizes claims tools, systems, and technology to meet established productivity, quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction metrics.
  • Responds effectively to workload fluctuations, including supporting catastrophe (CAT) operations, which may require extended hours and overtime during designated events.
  • Continually develops technical knowledge of property insurance policies, coverages, and claims handling processes.
