JOB SUMMARYThe Property Clerk is responsible for the timely transmittal of all accounting related matters to the Finance Department. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of computerized inventory control systems.
  • Knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications and inventory control systems.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must obtain valid Virginia Racing Commission License.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a receiving and/or shipping clerk preferred.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for scanning, indexing, and transmitting all paperwork to Shared Services Revenue Audit department.
  • Verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Responsible for retrieval of paperwork related to Main Bank Accountability.
  • Prepares any outbound shipments for pickup and examines contents to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, recording shortages, and notifying shipper or vendor as necessary.
  • Responsible for correct in-house routing of arriving shipments after taking delivery.
  • Maintain a clear and orderly workspace.
  • Attends daily briefings and meetings as required; participates in a positive manner.
  • Provides excellent guest service to internal and external guests.
  • May participate in other activities at the request of the General Manger, such as special projects.
