Candidates who reside within 50 miles of an office location (West Bend, Madison, Appleton) will be offered a hybrid work schedule. Candidates who are fully remote (beyond 50 miles) may occasionally be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and corporate events. Responsibilities & Qualifications We are seeking an experienced Property Claims Desk Adjuster to manage a caseload of moderate to high‑complexity property claims with minimal supervision. In this role, you will use current claims technology to conduct thorough investigations, determine coverage, evaluate damages or benefits, and assess liability or compensability. You’ll work directly with insureds, claimants, and attorneys to negotiate fair and timely settlements, while maintaining strong customer relationships and delivering a high level of service throughout the life of each claim. This position requires proactive file management and sound judgment. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate and adequate reserves, adhering to department audit guidelines, and ensuring files are well‑documented and handled efficiently. In addition to day‑to‑day claim handling, you may participate in training activities, projects, and department initiatives that support continuous improvement and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring at least four years of property claims handling experience, including prior responsibility for claims of moderate complexity. Strong communication skills - both written and verbal - are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently. Success in this role also requires effective negotiation, problem‑solving, and conflict‑resolution skills, as well as a consistent customer‑service mindset. Proficiency with computers and modern claims technology is expected, and experience with property estimating or Xactimate is a plus. A bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or a related field is preferred, along with industry designations such as Associate in General Insurance (AINS) or Associate in Claims (AIC).
