Summer 2026, Property & Casualty Sales Intern
About The Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team for the summer! This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the commercial insurance sector, working closely with experienced professionals. This role offers the chance to gain valuable experience at our Birmingham office under a 5-day in-office, 35-hour work week. Your time will include programming tailored for our Birmingham interns, as well as participation in a cohort of other IMA interns across the country.
Requirements
- A rising senior enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, preferably in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. A concentration in sales or RMI is also a plus.
- A strong interest in sales.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to problem-solve, think critically, and provide creative solutions
- Ability to connect with a diverse group of people.
Nice To Haves
- A proven track record as an influential member of a sports team, Greek organization, or other extracurricular activity is a plus.
- Previous sales experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members on various projects and initiatives.
- Support the sales team in developing and executing sales strategies.
- Support production efforts by assisting with quoting new clients, preparing proposals, and contributing to coverage summaries, historical loss reviews, and benchmarking analyses.
- Build core industry knowledge by attending sales calls, engaging in licensing preparation, and observing best practices in client relationship management.
- Collaborate with producers during client renewals, participating in meetings and on-site visits to understand renewal strategy and client needs.
- Leverage problem-solving skills to support day-to-day client servicing needs

- This internship is designed as a learning and development opportunity and does not include participation in the medical, dental, and vision insurance, and any other benefits program that are provided solely to regular full-time associates.
