About The Position

An internship with the Hilb Group offers students the opportunity to explore multiple career paths within a growing insurance brokerage. As a rapidly expanding organization, we provide hands-on learning experiences and exposure to real-world projects that support both personal and professional development. Interns work closely with experienced team members, gain insight into our business operations, and contribute to meaningful service, sales, and operational initiatives. You will also have the opportunity to travel to our corporate office in Richmond, VA, where you’ll connect with fellow interns, network with company leaders, and participate in a volunteer event. Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Curious, motivated, and eager to learn about the insurance industry and grow professional

Nice To Haves

• Preferred majors include, Risk Management & Insurance, Business Management, Marketing, Communications, or related fields

Responsibilities

• Rotate between Personal Lines and Commercial Lines departments to gain hands-on exposure to both lines of coverage.
• Support account management team with policy documentation, endorsements, renewals, and administrative tasks.
• Assist with data entry, reporting, and quality checks within the agency management system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support producers by gathering underwriting information and preparing proposals and documentation.
• Participate in client appointments and sales meetings with producers to observe client service and sales best practices.
• Contribute to special projects aimed at improving internal processes, client experience, or operational efficiency.
• Build professional communication skills through interactions with internal stakeholders.
