About The Position

The Project Technician I is an entry-level technical resource responsible for supporting the successful delivery of IT projects for Managed Services Provider (MSP) clients. This role combines hands-on technical implementation with customer-facing responsibilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards. The Project Technician I works both onsite at client locations and in the office, collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and client stakeholders to perform deployments, migrations, and upgrades. The role also includes staging and preparing inventory at the ITS local office and providing guidance and oversight to Project Technicians assigned to PC deployment projects.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in IT support or project delivery, preferably in a Managed Services Provider environment.
Strong technical skills in Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking (LAN/WAN, VLANs, firewall configuration), and endpoint deployment.
Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).
Experience with Immybot is favorable.
Troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking.
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while balancing multiple projects.
Ability to lift, carry, and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment, including onsite client visits and in-office project work.
Willingness to travel to client sites (local and occasionally regional).
Willingness to work evenings or weekends as needed for system cutovers, migrations, or urgent deployments.
Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Pacific Time (PST).

Nice To Haves

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent.
Experience with PSA/RMM tools (e.g., ConnectWise, Automate, Immybot).
Prior experience working in a fast-paced MSP environment with multiple concurrent client projects.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and support hardware, software, and network infrastructure as part of client project engagements.
Execute technical tasks for projects including, but not limited to, server deployments, workstation rollouts, network equipment installations, cloud migrations, and security solutions.
Perform structured testing and validation of installed solutions to ensure they meet project requirements and client expectations.
Collaborate with Project Managers to understand scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Travel to client locations to perform technical work, resolve deployment issues, and provide end-user guidance during project cutovers.
Represent the company professionally and build strong rapport with client stakeholders.
Provide clear communication on project status, challenges, and progress while onsite.
Prepare and stage equipment prior to onsite deployment.
Document all technical steps, configurations, and outcomes in the company’s project management system.
Assist with post-project support and handoff to the Managed Services team.
Work closely with senior project engineers for escalations and guidance on complex issues.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including network diagrams, configuration notes, and asset inventories.
Follow established best practices, change management, and quality assurance procedures.
