About The Position

Precise Engineering is seeking an experienced Project T/A Planner to support project and turnaround planning efforts within major oil, gas, and petrochemical facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAP planning and scheduling, and a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems. This is a hands-on role responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking all phases of maintenance, construction, and turnaround work — ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of maintenance or project planning experience using SAP S/4HANA in oil & gas, LNG, or petrochemical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of planning, scheduling, and execution best practices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Valid State Driver’s License (required)
  • TWIC Card or ability to obtain and maintain one in good standing.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to collaborate across departments.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with limited supervision.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership in team and safety culture development.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Technical Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field
  • Experience with Prometheus, MS Project, or Primavera P6 highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to plan and estimate work for scaffolding, rigging, welding, fabrication, insulation, and heavy equipment operations.
  • Experience working in PHMSA-regulated pipeline facilities or with gas compression/metering systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate all project and turnaround activities for assigned assets.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project and outage plans using planning software.
  • Create job packs with relevant work order documentation, drawings, and materials.
  • Prioritize and plan work for efficient backlog management and cost control.
  • Coordinate work orders and schedules with Project, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance teams.
  • Develop weekly, monthly, and long-range (4-year) look-ahead schedules in collaboration with supervisors and engineering.
  • Manage manpower availability, dispatching, and craft coordination.
  • Provide technical support within SAP CMMS and other planning modules.
  • Identify material requirements and work closely with vendors and supply chain.
  • Develop and track KPI reports for schedule compliance, cost performance, and regulatory metrics.
  • Support the development and revision of procedures, documentation, and training.
  • Assist in budget development and provide variance and trend analyses as required.
