About The Position

Precise Engineering is seeking an experienced IC&E Engineer IV (Instrumentation, Control & Electrical Engineer) to join our team at the Golden Pass LNG Terminal in Sabine Pass, Texas. This senior-level engineering position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge instrumentation and control systems at one of the nation's premier LNG facilities. As an IC&E Engineer IV, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex instrumentation, control, and electrical systems that are critical to safe and efficient LNG terminal operations. This role combines technical expertise with hands-on problem-solving in a dynamic industrial environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in instrumentation, control, and electrical engineering
  • Strong knowledge of DCS (Distributed Control Systems), PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), and SCADA systems
  • Experience with control system design, loop tuning, and process automation
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics, and loop diagrams
  • Understanding of industry standards including NEC, API, ISA, and IEC
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across disciplines

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience in LNG, oil & gas, petrochemical, or process industries
  • Knowledge of safety instrumented systems (SIS) and functional safety standards (IEC 61511)
  • Experience with Honeywell, Emerson DeltaV, Siemens, or similar control platforms
  • Familiarity with HMI design and development
  • Experience with calibration management systems and instrument asset management
  • Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and intrinsically safe systems

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation, control, and electrical systems for LNG terminal operations
  • Conduct performance testing and calibration of control instruments to ensure optimal accuracy and reliability
  • Support automation and process optimization initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and safety
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and electrical codes (NEC, API, ISA)
  • Assist in system upgrades and integration of new technologies, including DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems
  • Perform root cause analysis on equipment failures and operational disruptions to minimize downtime
  • Provide technical guidance for installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives and best practices
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians on IC&E systems and troubleshooting techniques
