About The Position

The Manhattan Schizophrenia Research Program is seeking a full- time Project Support candidate. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research on pharmacological novel interventions for patients with incomplete response to their current anti psychotic treatments. The Project Support Assistant III will assist the Principal Investigator(s) in day-to-day operations.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in health sciences, nursing, psychology, social sciences, or a related field preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in clinical research, healthcare, or community outreach is preferred.
  • Experience with participant recruitment, screening, and consent processes is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial protocols and regulatory requirements (e.g., IRB, HIPAA, GCP) is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in engaging diverse populations, is essential.
  • Proficiency in using databases, online tools, and electronic record-keeping systems.

Responsibilities

  • Participant Identification and Screening: Use databases, outreach, phone calls, and online tools to locate potential participants who meet study criteria. Conduct initial screenings to verify eligibility.
  • Candidate Communication: Inform potential participants about study goals, procedures, benefits, and risks. Answer questions and obtain informed consent where applicable.
  • Database and Record Management: Maintain accurate records of participants' information, recruitment activities, and follow-ups to ensure compliance and smooth study operation.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Arrange participant appointments and follow up to confirm attendance, sometimes coordinating with healthcare providers or study teams.
  • Collaboration: Communicate regularly with clinical research coordinators, investigators, project managers, and other stakeholders to meet recruitment goals and address challenges
  • Screening and Assessment Support: Assisting with or conducting preliminary assessments or questionnaires to determine eligibility and ensure proper documentation.
  • Participant Engagement and Retention: Building rapport with potential and enrolled participants to encourage ongoing engagement and retention throughout the study.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Preparing recruitment reports, tracking metrics, and documenting challenges or successes for study oversight and regulatory audits.
