About The Position

To oversee the instruction and implementation of the educational aspects of Goodwill Keystone Area’s (GKA) Project Search program in County Government by creating, instructing, and building employability skills in the classroom and at internships that will transfer to a community-based employment setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or relevant field; or Associates Degree in Human Services with two (2) years’ experience in the relevant field; or High School diploma or GED equivalent and four (4) years’ relevant experience which enables the individual to meet the standards and expectations of the position.
  • One year Experience with teaching, training, facilitating or tutoring, and prior program development and management preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain ACRE Certification.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and satisfactorily complete a motor vehicle check on an annual basis.
  • Be willing to travel within assigned territory to meet the needs of participants and the agencies/ organizations that support them.
  • Must be able to work independently, coordinate weekly schedules, and travel to serve participants efficiently and effectively.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, writing skills, and organizational skills.
  • Computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Must complete and successfully pass Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Director of Mission Services to orient, train, and develop the Job Skills Trainers for Project Search.
  • Promotes and models a team-based approach among staff and works across departments to support all aspects of employment at GKA.
  • Establishes collaborative working relationships with state, county, and federal funding sources.
  • Markets services to potential customers and funding streams.
  • Ensures that contract obligations and goals are met by monitoring program compliance and quality enhancement standards.
  • Conducts all intakes to include, but not be limited to: scheduling, completing all necessary forms, obtaining documentation to meet GKA, and other applicable standards; interviews and determines appropriate services to achieve employment outcome, developing individual placement plan as appropriate.
  • Helps develop and refine curriculum to be used.
  • Instructs interns in employability skills such as communication, problem solving, team work, self-care, budgeting, and self-advocacy.
  • Monitors and records daily attendance and case notes using Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) database.
  • Understands the host business workplace environment, job requirements, and safety rules and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Acquires a working knowledge of the local job market, labor trends, and specific employer hiring practices and job requirements.
  • Assists in facilitating successful job placement of interns by providing training supervision, guidance, and teaching compensatory strategies to learn job tasks and work behaviors.
  • Handles all client information according to confidentiality policies established by GKA and all other governing entities.
  • Promotes an environment of workplace safety by training and informing others regarding safety standards/precautions.
  • Monitors safety and takes corrective action.
  • Assures that regulatory safety requirements are adhered to.
  • Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the Director of Mission Services.
