About The Position

Responsible for the management of all Project SEARCH programs and services. Supervises and directs staff responsible for service implementation.

Requirements

  • Training and experience gained through graduation from a college or university with major study emphasis in vocational rehabilitation or other related fields.
  • Extensive knowledge of management principles and agency policies.
  • Understand various disabilities and other barriers to employment.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and insured vehicle available for daily use.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to facilitate, initiate and respond to verbal, written, computerized, telephone and fax communications.
  • Mobility to access various locations within/outside ODC facilities.
  • Ability to perform quality inspection according to ODC’s and/or customer’s requirements.
  • Ability to operate various office equipment and technology.
  • Standing, sitting, walking frequently required.
  • Lifting 25 – 35 lbs occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Practical/relative vocational rehabilitation experience appropriate in lieu of formal education.
  • Prior experience in coordination of services with community agencies, program development and/or marketing is preferred.
  • Develop innovative program models.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to Project SEARCH staff and individuals receiving services to promote ODC’s mission.
  • Cultivate and effectively utilize community resources to promote, expand and develop employment options for people with disabilities or other employment barriers.
  • Develop employment experiences that match the individual job preferences.
  • Manage operations of all locations.
  • Act as liaison to DVR and Wisconsin and National Project SEARCH teams.
  • Teach job duties and responsibilities at job sites to individuals with employment barriers. Perform task analysis, make recommendations for job modification or re-design.
  • Case management of individuals and evaluating individual’s functional abilities in a variety of settings.
  • Develop measurable vocational plans.
  • Develop employment opportunities matching individual’s abilities and job preferences
  • Determine and develop support system for individuals at work sites.
  • Manage, train, supervise, and direct Project Search staff.
  • Project Search Site coverage as needed
  • Follow procedures established by the U.S. and Wisconsin Departments of Labor.
  • Independently make decisions, plan, schedule time and workload.
  • Establish working relationships between funding sources, support staff, individuals/parents/caregivers, employers, and co-workers to promote integration and foster success.
  • Maintain professional standards and relationships with referring personnel, organizations, and agencies to obtain a high level of satisfaction with services and promote program growth.
  • Maintain awareness of local job markets
  • Responsible for planning/hosting Project Search events and coordinating polo and T-shirt ordering for interns.
  • Support and attend new student assessment days each school year.
  • Develop, implement and manage program and department budget goals and performance outcome goals.
  • Responsible for training and monitoring the team’s use of client database system.
  • Responsible for ensuring the database system is used correctly and efficiently to accurately reflect work performed for documentation and billing purposes.
  • Follow ODC and funding agency case management and reporting procedures and requirements.
  • Utilize customized employment and a variety of techniques to develop and promote integrated community employment.
  • Complete trainings and certifications as required.
