This position plays a lead role in the management and oversight of environmental impact analysis studies in support of major transportation investments, including compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and related federal, state, and local environmental requirements. Responsibilities include coordinating environmental technical disciplines, managing environmental documentation (such as EIS, EA, and Categorical Exclusions), and ensuring environmental considerations are fully integrated into transportation planning, engineering, and decision-making. This position is also responsible for the management of highly complex transportation planning studies at the system, corridor, and project level, frequently serving as the team leader. Develops work programs, prepares RFPs for professional services, selects and manages consultants and DART staff in executing project tasks, schedules, and budgets. Presents study results to DART Board and regional policy makers. Serves as a liaison between community officials and DART Board of Directors to ensure local agency issues and concerns are addressed as part of project planning, engineering and construction.
