About The Position

As a Project Manager in Wheeler Fleet, your project(s) often span multiple facilities and time zones, and it’s your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project’s progress and milestones. Project Managers lead complex teams executing multi-disciplinary projects. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks, and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong business acumen with top communication skills.
  • 3 or more years of experience in the management of complex projects including relevant experience in a customer-facing role is required.
  • Experience managing small to medium scale technology Implementations
  • Experience managing diverse teams with remote team members
  • Experience managing 3rd party resources (ex. Implementation consultants)
  • Expertise/Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Up to 25% travel (domestic and international) may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Develop project charters
  • Develop project implementation plans
  • Confer with project personnel to identify and resolve problems.
  • Monitor or track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Submit project deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Initiate, review, or approve modifications to project plans.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings related to projects.
  • Direct or coordinate activities of project personnel.
  • Identify need for initial or supplemental project resources.
  • Develop or update project plans for projects including information such as project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing.
  • Perform risk assessments to develop response strategies.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Identify, review, or select vendors or consultants to meet project needs.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for projects.
  • Establish and execute a project communication plan.
  • Develop and manage work breakdown structure (WBS) of projects.
  • Monitor the performance of project team members, providing and documenting performance feedback.
  • Coordinate recruitment or selection of project personnel.
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and spans of authority to project personnel.
  • Negotiate with project stakeholders or suppliers to obtain resources or materials.
  • Define, implement and manage the Wheeler Portfolio & Project Management methodology, including work in-take and filtering processes, approval criteria and reporting.
  • Assess current or future customers’ needs and priorities by communicating directly with customers, conducting surveys, or other methods.
  • Other duties as assigned.
